Impressions
As my train pulled into Paris Nord, I felt bittersweet. On the one hand, I knew that this would be the most relaxing part of my vacation. On the other hand, this would be the last part of my vacation. This was my second visit to Paris and refreshingly different. I stayed with a friend near Arc de Triomphe just steps away from everything, got to see the interiors of his grandmother's traditional French home, ate steak tartar for dinner and got a motorbike tour of the city where I saw the original Statue of Liberity, saw the Indian row of restaurants (Devon of Paris) and even rode through the tunnel where Diana's car crashed over 10 years ago (the visible damage serving as a chilling reminder). A couple of days later, I gave my own version of an express tour of Paris to another friend who was in town on his first visit to this city. The next day, five of us drove out to Angers in the Loire Valley to a friend's family-owned Chateau, where more friends were waiting for us. The best weekend of my vacation was about to start.
